Standing Out From the Crowd

 

John Barrett and myself talk about this need to fit in. This need to be #accepted to feel that we are part of the #team or #tribe or #community.

 

This came up when I had a chat with a father over a cup of tea this morning and his son who is in grade 1, and this other son who is in his first year of high school are both havig troubles #adjusting and fitting in. From that they are having #anxiety and #self #worth issue's.

 

It was also super interesting to note that the father himself who is in his mid to late 40's was then talking about how he was having trouble fitting in with the already tight nit community at his new job.

 

As I sat there listening and remember the same issue's in school then high school then first job...adult hood it was very relevant to me that "hey we actually never grow out of this yearning to be accepted"

 

The mind blowing part is most of the time we want to be excepted by those whom we don't even like or enjoy their company (this may not be the case all the time but a good portion of the time it is) all just to be able to breath easy and say "cool I got the invite or the ok from the team" even if that mean's hiding who we truly are just to fit in because that is the "norm"

 

But we were not put here on this #beautiful #planet that is full of #abundance to fit in...we are all meant to stand out from the crowd!!!
